Accommodation All three guest bedrooms are en-suite doubles, generously proportioned and full of character with many exposed beams. Each bedroom has a view over the garden across the fields to our ancient woodland. Every bedroom has its own TV, hair dryer, clock radio, comprehensive hot drinks tray, wine glasses and comfortable seating.
The Pink bedroom Has a King size bed en-suite bathroom with large bath, hand held shower and also shower over the bath.
The Yellow bedroom Have Twin beds that can convert to form a Super King size bed en-suite bathroom with bath and overhead shower.
The White bedroom Has a standard Double bed en-suite bathroom with free standing roll top bath and hand held shower. Dogs Welcome
Dogs and their owners are welcome to stay in our small converted barn in the stable yard, approximately 30 yards from the farmhouse. Breakfast is served in the farmhouse. The barn has a standard size double bed en-suite with a small bathroom. There are tea/coffee making facilities, fridge, micro wave, TV, radio. The entrance hall can accommodate a large dog bed. Dogs and their owners are welcome to walk in the surrounding fields. For more details please enquire.
The South West Coast path is 3 miles away, leading in one direction to the beautiful sheltered beach of Blackpool Sands with its excellent beachside cafe, and in the other past the special nature reserve at Slapton Ley up to Start Point lighthouse. Beyond the point there is a truly magnificent cliff-top walk to Salcombe. Inland the rugged splendour of Dartmoor is equally impressive.
We have maps and information for those wishing to go walking, whether it is for a gentle stroll taking in a Pub Lunch or a more challenging route.
There are boats for hire in Dartmouth and also Dittisham which is 5 miles from Greenswood. Boat trips can be combined with a Steam Train journey and open top Bus Ride making a circular Round Robin journey which also takes in Totnes. Sea fishing can be arranged, or for those who prefer fly fishing we have lakes nearby. Explore Dartmoor on horseback, or we have stables near Dartmouth for a gentle hack. There are organized tours of Britannia Royal Naval College.
We are fortunate to have many beautiful gardens and National Trust properties within easy reach. Greenway - the home of the late Agatha Christie and gardens with stunning views over the River Dart.
Coleton Fishacre with lovely gardens and fascinating Art Deco house once owned by the D'Oyle Carte family is just the other side of the River Dart. Overbecks Gardens and House are situated at the mouth of the estuary in Salcombe with far reaching views of the magnificent coastline.
It is possible to drive into Cornwall and visit several National Trust properties in one day, and of course there is also the Eden Project. We are particularly interested in gardens and are more than happy to advise and help plan your visits. |
