Situated right on the National Park Boundary of Dartmoor, this beautiful Victorian country house hotel, built in the 1870s, was once Bovey Tracey Grammar School. 

Set in its own grounds of two and a half acres, it is an idyllic and tranquil centre from which to base your stay in Devon being only minutes away from the many famous Tors and villages within Dartmoor and easy driving to the major cities and coast-(Exeter 12 miles, Plymouth 25 miles and the coast 10 miles).

 Rooms

The mixture of both traditional and contemporary style created by Jan and Mark, the owners, complements the historic Victorian architecture and enhances the warm friendly welcome and attention to detail received from the enthusiastic staff.

All of the sixteen en-suite spacious rooms are non-smoking, and the Woodland Wing rooms are ideal for guests wishing to bring their dogs. The hotel welcomes children over 14 years old.

 The Restaurant

Recipient of several food awards, including 2 AA Rosettes,
Best Hotel in Devon 2001, and most recently 2 RAC Ribbons, the restaurant offers a classical food style that has international influences. 
Lead by London trained Executive Chef - Edward Elliot - The Edgemoor kitchen brigade prides itself on the use of local 
produce - including speciality fish dishes - the fish is delivered fresh daily from the coast - and a wide variety of vegetarian dishes. 
The specials, which are changed daily, include a home-made soup, two fish dishes and a vegetarian option. These complement the Full Menu which is re-written every month.

of wines from around the world. 

Wine by the glass, a selection of half bottles, wines and 

champagne of the house, limited special cellar lines as well as the regular favourites, a separate port list (by glass and bottle), six different Madeira's, plus a "Takeaway" price list, demonstrate

that this side of the business is also a "hobby"!
